Another demand for Felss: Every axial forming machine is designed and produced with the same precision and know-how and experience. The modular concept from Felss offers individual solutions for every kind of application.
The axial forming machines can be used in a diverse range of applications: Different splines are pressed onto tubes or rods, tubes are formed to profiles that cannot be rolled (e.g. polygons) and different workpieces are produced by reducing and expanding with great form versatility.
From the single machine to the chained line
A decisive factor of this flexibility is the philosophy of the Felss machine manufacturer. At the center stands a modular and very flexible concept that makes it easier to adapt the technology to the requirements of customers. The axial forming unit is also used by individual machines whilst at the same time being a central part of a transfer system with several forming steps. The product range includes machines with a press force of 120 kN to 700 kN.
The recursive modulation patented by Felss – the superimposing of an additional movement profile on the actual feed movement – opens up new horizons for the possibilities of axial forming. The step-by-step (incremental) nature of the forming process on the one hand increases the degree of deformation and on the other hand minimizes the forces that arise. This means that even thin-walled workpieces can be axial formed. From design to assembly – the demand on Felss is the same with every axial forming machine: each workpiece is produced efficiently, with high precision and with the lowest possible tolerances. NC control systems, short set-up times and high availability also guarantee the economic efficiency and flexibility of the machines during the production process.
