Transmission shaft

Complex geometry and precise splines
Transmission shafts transmit rotary movements and torques. In doing so, they are subjected to high torsional stresses and have to be manufactured with the appropriate precision. Here, special attention is paid to the shaft-hub interface, which has to be precisely designed and processed.

Creating the optimum component with just a few process steps
This Felss transmission shaft is distinguished by complex, rotary swaged geometries, outstanding surfaces and a consistently high spline quality. The continuous grain structure achieved by cold forming ensures maximum stability. At the same time, the weight of the component is reduced thanks to the hollow construction. During production, seven external splines can be applied to a single clamping diameter within a shortened cycle time of approx. 95 seconds.
Benefits of the Felss solution at a glance

Stronger
Higher stability thanks to continuous fiber course.

Resource-efficient
Fewer processing steps by reducing and eliminating waste by fully utilizing the available material.

More precise
Complex geometries, gear shapes and surfaces produced at the highest accuracy.

Faster
Shortened cycle times for gear cutting due to the application of the gear teeth in only one work step.
