Axial forming enables the quick production of highly precise and resilient lightweight design parts. With axial forming, a matrix forms the desired profile on a hollow or solid workpiece. In this way, the manufacture of external and internal toothing systems, dropped centers, involute toothing, and the most varied profiles is possible. The forming is thereby highly precise.

The Felss Process: Axial forming – external toothing
Axial forming even allows internal splines with blind holes without toothing run out, which means that less installation space is required. With a special forming process, Felss can manufacture extremely thin-walled tubes and shafts, for example, shafts with an involute toothing. Our spline elements ensure the necessary transfer of force, for example, with drive or transmission shafts. The steering shafts transfer the rotary movement from the steering wheel to the wheels.

Added Value

Lighter
Improving the weight-performance ratio: Increasing the strength and reduction of the weight with the same performance.

Stronger
Greater resilience due to surface strengthening.

Resource Efficient
Greater efficiency through potential dispensing with the hardening process or additional weight optimization.

Faster
Several spline systems can be produced in one cycle with the tool changer.

More Precise
Very high spline quality thanks to precise tools.
