e4 Smart Shaft
The e4 Smart Shaft consists of a uniform central shaft of variable length and individualized end pieces.
Central shafts are found in the axle drives of utility vehicles, where all other elements derive their rotational speed by way of the transmission.
When producing central shafts, Felss guarantees the greatest process security: when incorporating the spline, the axial forming process offers consistently high spline quality and exceptional surface quality with short cycle times. The uninterrupted grain flow offers increased stability. With the production of central shafts, axial forming enables the inclusion of internal toothing in the blind hole – this takes place highly precisely and chipless.
Greater stability due to the uninterrupted grain flow.
The highest degree of process security and material savings through chipless processing.
Reduced cycle times of approx. 15 seconds.
Excellent surface and consistently high spline quality.

This Felss steering shaft is, in contrast to manufacturing using other processes, produced from one part.
This Felss rotor shaft offers minimization of wall thicknesses in the area of power transmission and optimal material distribution along the functional external contour.
