Current information on the coronavirus from the Felss Group
As soon as the increasing spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) became known, Felss set up a professional crisis team in order to keep the increasing spread of the infections as low as possible and to protect its employees. Numerous protective measures were set up and implemented within a very short time. These include, for example, generally increased hygiene measures in all areas of the company, the preparation of an FAQ catalogue and code of conduct for employees, adapted breaktime regulations and special regulations for employees in logistics and shift work.
In order to further increase protection in recent weeks and in the coming period, the possibilities for flexible home-based work have been significantly expanded and applied. This measure is also intended to ensure comprehensive protection for employees who belong to risk groups and to increase the flexibility of employees affected by daycare and school closures.
In agreement with the Works Council, Felss has now begun to reduce the size of the workforce at the Group’s German sites, thus also responding to the economic changes. In a first step, this measure is being implemented mainly by reducing working time accounts and initial short-time working measures. The Felss Group is planning comprehensive short-time working arrangements for employees from April onwards. Selected production areas, areas in contact with customers and business-critical divisions of the company will be maintained.
Reductions in working hours are also being planned or already being implemented at the other European locations (Switzerland + Slovakia).
Fortunately, no positively tested corona cases are known among Felss employees worldwide. We wish our employees all the continued good health during this very difficult time for all of us.
