THE HMP ROLLER TECHNOLOGY

By rolling we mean the forming of materials between at least two rotating elements. In the process, the thickness of the workpiece is reduced. Strip Rolling

Strip Rolling

In this process strips are rolled to reduce their thickness. This technology has applications in various areas of industry, including the processing of coins and precious metals as well as in the electronics sector.

There is a choice between two strip rolling systems:

With two rollers
The material is re-shaped with the aid of two working rollers and the thickness of the strip is reduced. This process is suitable for processing thicker strips with especially powerful rolling strength.

With four rollers
With this system – using two working rollers and two additional supporting rollers – it is possible to process the finest strip thicknesses with the tiniest tolerances.

WIRE REDUCTION ROLLING

The cross-section of wires are reduced with this technology. In its production, the material is alternately processed in its thickness and its width with the aid of profiled roller rings.

This process is used above all in the processing of highly valuable precious metals and special materials.

FLAT AND PROFILE ROLLING

In this process round wires are rolled flat and/or given a profile. Throughout the process the wire is both pressed against from the side (edge processing) and in its thickness in several stages. Profiles can also be applied to the material.

Flat and profile rolling is used in many areas including medical engineering, the optics industry and in solar technology.

ULTRA PRECISION ROLLING

Ultra precision rolling makes it possible to process round wires with a diameter of up to 5µm. This rolling system is a further development of the flat and profile rolling.

This process is used mainly in the jewellery and watchmaking industry.
